Overview

We are looking for a compassionate, responsible, and experienced Home Child Care Provider to care for children in a private household. The ideal candidate will provide nurturing care in a safe and stimulating environment and support the children’s emotional and physical development.

Job Duties:

Provide attentive and caring supervision for children in the employer’s home

Assist with feeding, bathing, dressing, and maintaining personal hygiene

Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks

Plan and lead educational and recreational activities

Maintain a clean and safe environment, including light housekeeping related to the children

Monitor children’s well-being and report concerns to the parents

Drive children to and from school and activities as needed

Occasionally stay overnight when required

Terms of Employment:

Permanent, Full-time

30–40 hours per week, with some flexibility

Language of work: English

Wage:

$18.00 to $22.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications

Potential for performance-based raises or bonuses

Meals provided during working hours

Accommodation available at no cost when overnight stay is required

Vacation pay and statutory holidays in accordance with BC Employment Standards

Location of Work:

Private home in Victoria, British Columbia

Local travel may be required

Requirements:

Completion of secondary school

At least 1 year of full-time experience as a nanny or child caregiver

Valid Class 5 Driver’s License

CPR/First Aid certification is an asset

Kind, dependable, and proactive personality

Ability to communicate clearly in English

Speaking Portuguese is considered an asset
