We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Shelf Stocker to join our team. You will help keep the store organized, fully stocked, and customer-ready. In this role, you’ll be responsible for receiving shipments, unpacking merchandise, labeling products, and ensuring items are correctly placed and attractively displayed on store shelves.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Receive and unpack merchandise from shipments; count, weigh, or sort items to verify accuracy.
  • Stock shelves and display areas with products, ensuring items are properly labeled, priced, and attractively arranged.
  • Maintain inventory records using barcode scanners or computerized systems.
  • Price merchandise using stamps, stickers, or electronic labeling tools according to price lists.
  • Attach anti-theft devices to high-value items as required.
  • Assist customers by retrieving items from shelves or the stockroom and directing them to product locations.
  • Prepare orders for delivery or pickup, including bagging, boxing, or parceling purchases.
  • Keep stock areas clean and organized, and perform general cleaning duties such as sweeping and mopping.
  • Report damaged or missing inventory to supervisors and assist with inventory counts.
  • Follow health and safety protocols, including proper lifting techniques and equipment use.

Employment requirements:

  • Completion of some secondary school education.
  • No prior experience necessary.
  • Comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided.
  • Strong numeracy skills are essential for managing transactions, pricing accuracy, and basic inventory-related tasks.
  • Familiarity with barcode scanners, labeling tools, and manual handling equipment (e.g., dollies, carts).
  • Be able to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, crouching, and standing for extended periods.
  • Flexibility to work overnight shifts.
