Position Info:

·         Position: Drafting Technologist

·         Terms of employment: Full-time, Permanent

·         Wage: $37.00-$40.00/hour (depending on experience)

·         Working Hours: 30-40 hours/week

·         Number of Positions:  2

·         Work Location: 3131 Production Way, Burnaby, BC V5A 3H1

Job Duties:

·         Prepare detailed engineering designs and technical drawings using computer-aided design (CAD) software and related tools

·         Develop and prepare preliminary design sketches to communicate design intent and fabrication details

·         Write and compile technical specifications outlining materials, dimensions, and procedures

·         Complete comprehensive documentation packages and drawing sets for review, approval, and construction purposes

·         Consult with clients, engineers, and production specialists to determine product requirements and ensure design solutions meet project specifications

·         Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications

·         Estimate material quantities, labour, and associated costs to support accurate project planning

·         Examine and review drawings to verify accuracy, identify errors, and ensure conformity with project specifications

Job requirements:

·         Language: English

·         Experience: 1-2 years of related work experience in drafting or design is required

·         Education: Completion of secondary school is required
