We are looking for a talented, passionate, and experienced individual with an eye for detail to join our dynamic team.
Position:
· Formwork Installation & Dismantling:
o Constructing and installing formwork systems using timber, plywood, steel, and modular panel systems (e.g., Peri, Doka, EFCO) for a variety of concrete structures, including:
o Foundations and footings
o Columns and walls (vertical formwork)
o Suspended slabs and beams (horizontal formwork)
o Core walls, lift shafts, stairwells, and retaining structures
o Dismantling formwork safely once concrete is cured and ensuring all materials are reclaimed or disposed of according to site protocol.
· Blueprint Interpretation & Set-Out:
o Reading and interpreting construction drawings, plans, and specifications to accurately mark out formwork layout.
o Using laser levels, string lines, plumb bobs, and measuring tapes to ensure precision in dimensions, levels, and alignment.
o Collaborating with engineers and site supervisors to clarify design requirements and resolve technical queries.
· Reinforcement Coordination:
o Coordinating with steel fixers and concrete crews to ensure timely installation of rebar within the formwork.
o Ensuring all openings, penetrations, box-outs, and embeds are positioned according to structural plans.
· Concrete Pour Preparation:
o Inspecting formwork for integrity, stability, and alignment before pours.
o Ensuring proper application of release agents to prevent sticking and damage to formwork during stripping.
o Assisting during concrete pours, including vibratory consolidation where required.
· Health, Safety & Compliance:
o Strict adherence to Eire Forming’s safety policies and procedures, including daily toolbox talks, hazard identification, and risk mitigation.
o Use of all necessary PPE and tools in a safe and responsible manner.
o Maintaining clean and hazard-free work zones and reporting any unsafe conditions immediately.
· Tools, Equipment & Maintenance:
o Competent use of carpentry tools including circular saws, nail guns, power drills, grinders, and laser levels.
o Safe use of scaffolding, ladders, and temporary working platforms where required.
o Regular maintenance and care of tools and ensuring equipment is returned and stored correctly.
Requirements:
The job requirements for Forming Carpenter are as follows:
· At least 3-5 years of experience in the construction industry specializing in forming carpentry.
· Completion of secondary school.
· Carpentry trade certification.
· Fluency in written and spoken English.
· Ability to stand for prolonged periods, climb, pull, and lift heavy objects.
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Skills and Competencies:
· Proficiency in using carpentry tools and equipment.
· Strong understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction.
· Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
· Excellent hand-eye coordination and physical condition.
· Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
