We are looking for a skilled and energetic Bartender to join our team at Red Robin, where you will play a key role in creating a lively and welcoming atmosphere. As a bartender, you will combine great drinks, friendly conversation, and exceptional service to enhance the overall guest experience, while contributing to the fun and vibrant spirit of our restaurant.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Take beverage orders from serving staff or directly from patrons, and serve drinks efficiently while providing friendly, professional service and ensuring a positive guest experience.
- Explains menu items and offers appropriate suggestions to Guests.
- Prepare and serve cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages following Red Robin recipes, standards, and customer preferences.
- Engage with guests & create an unforgettable experience with your personality and service
- Keep the energy & vibes high, create a fun, welcoming environment where guests love to hang out
- Keep track of tickets, process orders, handle payments, record sales, and manage cash or point-of-sale transactions accurately and responsibly.
- Maintain bar inventory, monitor stock levels, and assist in ordering supplies as needed.
- Keep the bar area clean, organized, and sanitized, including glassware and equipment.
- Check guest IDs and ensure all beverage service complies with provincial/territorial liquor laws and company policies.
- Assist with opening and/or closing of the bar (preparing the bar at the start of shift, cleaning up, restocking, shutting down equipment).
- Support and mentor bartenders and bar staff through training and supervision, while being able to describe and recommend a variety of wines and beers.
- Act as the restaurant’s subject matter expert on alcohol, suggestively sell to bar guests, and coach team members to upsell beverages and drive sales.
- Assist management in hiring or, if necessary, dismissing bar staff.
Employment requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a similar role
- Valid Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification approved by the state regulatory agency; adhere to all liquor laws and company policies
- Strong knowledge of liquor, cocktails, and beer and British Columbia wines
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 kg
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
