Position Info:

·         Position: Dental Laboratory Assistant

·         Terms of employment: Full-time, Permanent

·         Wage: $32.00~$37.00/hour (depending on experience)

·         Working Hours: 30-40 hours/week

·         Number of Positions:  1

·         Work Location: 101 – 1899 Rosser Avenue, Burnaby, BC V5C 6R5

Benefits:

·         4 % Vacation Pay

Job Duties:

·         Prepare plaster models and moulds from dental impressions

·         Prepare wax bite-blocks and impression trays

·         Cast gold or metal alloys for bridges and denture bases

·         Pack plastic material in moulds to form full or partial dentures

·         Mould wax over denture setups to create the full contours of artificial gums

·         Finish the metal framework of dentures and polish and buff dentures to obtain a natural finish

·         Fabricate orthodontic bands from metals such as silver or stainless steel

·         Polish teeth and clinical crowns and apply fluoride and sealant

·         Take X-rays to assess patients’ oral health, and prepare dental instruments and filling materials as needed

·         Fabricate and place temporary crowns and restorations

Job Requirements:

·         Language: English

·         Experience: 1~2 years of experience in dental technology industry is required

·         Education: Completion of secondary school is required
