Position Info:

·         Position: Chef

·         Terms of employment: Full-time, Permanent

·         Wage: $23.00/hour

·         Working Hours: 30-40 hours/week

Benefits:

·         4% vacation pay

Job Duties:

·         Prepare and cook complete Japanese meals and specialty dishes on a regular basis for daily service and special functions.

·         Direct and manage all culinary operations, ensuring that authentic food preparation and cooking activities align with the restaurant’s high standards.

·         Design seasonal menus and create original Japanese recipes, while maintaining strict quality control to ensure every dish meets aesthetic and taste benchmarks.

·         Instruct and lead the kitchen team in specialized techniques, including precise knife skills, traditional garnishing, and the professional presentation of Japanese cuisine.

·         Oversee inventory and financial logistics by estimating ingredient requirements, managing labor costs, and requisitioning supplies, and arranging equipment repairs.

 

Job requirements:

·         Experience: 2-3 years of commercial cooking experience is required

·         Education: Completion of secondary school is required

·         Language: English
