Overview

Position Info:

·         Position: Cook

·         Terms of employment: Full-time, Permanent

·         Wage: $21.18/hour

·         Working Hours: 30-40 hours/week

·         Number of Positions: 2

·         Work Location: 208 East Island Highway, Parksville, BC V9P 2H7

Benefits:

·         4% vacation pay

Job Duties:

·         Prepare and cook a variety of sushi dishes, including rolls, sashimi, and other menu items in accordance with established recipes and quality standards

·         Determine appropriate portion sizes and assist in controlling food costs to minimize waste and maintain consistency

·         Ensure all food is prepared with proper handling of ingredients, including accommodating customer dietary restrictions and food allergies

·         Monitor kitchen and food preparation areas to ensure cleanliness, sanitation, and compliance with food safety regulations

·         Maintain inventory levels and keep accurate records of food supplies and kitchen materials

·         Requisition food items and kitchen supplies as needed to support daily operations

·         Clean kitchen equipment and work areas to maintain a safe and organized environment

Job requirements:

·         Language: English

·         Experience: 2-3 years of commercial cooking experience is required

·         Education: Completion of secondary school is required
