Momo Sushi Victoria is looking for 1 Cook

Job Title: Cook

Location: 1921 Quadra St., Victoria, BC, Canada V8T4C1

Wage: $20.19 per hour

Hours: 40 hours per week

Term: Full-time, Permanent

Language: English

Vacation: 4% Vacation pay (or 10 days) per year

 

Responsibilities:

–          Prepare and cook Japanese dishes such as donburi, noodles, tempura, teriyaki, and other menu offerings

–          Wash, cut, and prepare vegetables, meats, and seafood

–          Follow standardized recipes and portion guidelines to ensure consistency

–          Operate grills, fryers, rice cookers, and other kitchen equipment safely and efficiently

–          Assist in developing new menu items or seasonal specials as required

–          Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation

–          Follow proper procedures for handling ingredients and food items

–          Ensure all equipment, utensils, and surfaces are cleaned and sanitized regularly

–          Monitor ingredient freshness and discard items that do not meet quality standards

–          Label and store ingredients properly to minimize waste and maintain freshness

–          Support daily prep tasks to ensure smooth kitchen operations

–          Work closely with sushi chef, cooks and kitchen staff to ensure timely service

 

Requirements:

–          Completion of secondary school

–          At least 3 years of experience in commercial food preparation, including experience in a Japanese culinary environment

 

Key Assets:

–          Knowledge of Japanese cooking techniques, ingredients, and kitchen equipment

–          Understanding of food‑safety regulations and proper handling of raw ingredients

–          Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with attention to detail
