Overview

Responsible for operating large-scale mixing and baking equipment in a bakery environment to produce large quantities of our product lines.

Pay: From CA $23.71 per hour

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures all products are technical and correct before next steps in process.
  • Monitor operations for all doughs, batters, icing, glazing and fillings – steps in when required.
  • Maintain quality and standards of products.
  • Assist in on-the-job training new hires.
  • Support supervisor/management initiatives by ensuring all SOPs and employee relations issues are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Steps in when required for mixing, baking, preparing our pastries (cinnamon buns, danishes and strudels).
  • Maintain accurate records of baking operations if required.
  • Ensure all products are within their proper weight, size, shape and overall presentation.
  • Use mathematical skills/comprehension applicable to food science, following a recipe, quantities and ingredient portioning.
  • Integral role in leading the team to ensure food safety compliance, Del’s internal policies, occupational health and safety.
  • Ensure food safety remains high priority and is an ambassador for a food-safe culture
  • Support setting up, adjusting, and troubleshooting machinery required for actual baking.
  • Assist in managing any downtime.
  • Fill out all appropriate documentation for record keeping.
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment.
  • Break relief

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2+ years of food manufacturing experience
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Organized, time-management skills and multitasking ability
  • Motivated, engaged, and an outstanding team player
  • Training skills
  • Computer skills
  • Must meet legal working age requirements (ILO standards)
  • Physically fit to endure workday on the plant floor, walking & standing.
