Wage: $24.50/hour

 

Vacation: 4% of gross salary or 10 paid vacation days

Description: The Home Support Worker will be providing care and companionship for an adult suffering mobility issues and chronic pain. The successful candidate will administer personal care, which includes providing support during physiotherapy and other rehabilitation exercises to manage the health condition. Other responsibilities include assisting with purchasing groceries, and planning and preparing nutritious meals. The candidate will be responsible for routine light housekeeping and cleaning duties to keep the house clean and sanitary, including washing dishes and making beds.

 

Position requirements: Completion of secondary school. CPR certificate and First Aid certificate required. Prior experience as a home support worker is an asset. Must be able to communicate in English. The ideal candidate will be willing to work a flexible schedule and may need to variously work weekends, evening hours, and statutory holidays occasionally, and may be required to do some heavy lifting and drive to appointments. Must be a Canadian citizen or legally permitted to work in Canada. A successful applicant will be punctual, dependable, and reliable. A successful applicant will demonstrate efficient interpersonal skills, flexibility, patience, honesty, and good judgement. Strong references will be required.
