Position Info:

·         Position: Cook

·         Terms of employment: Full-time, Permanent

·         Wage: $17.50~$18.00/hour (depending on experience)

·         Working Hours: 30-44 hours/week

Job Duties:

·         Prepare traditional Japanese dishes and sushi items following established recipes and presentation standards

·         Cook individual menu orders and complete meal courses to restaurant specifications

·         Portion ingredients per dish according to standard recipes to control food costs and reduce waste

·         Modify recipes and preparation methods to accommodate customer allergies and dietary restrictions

·         Oversee kitchen staff during daily meal preparation and service periods

·         Instruct new cooks on proper food handling, sanitation, and preparation techniques

·         Inspect ingredients and finished dishes for freshness and quality before service

·         Record inventory levels for food supplies and kitchen equipment

·         Order food stock and kitchen supplies to maintain adequate inventory levels

·         Coordinate with servers to ensure timely delivery of orders to customers

Job requirements:

·         Language: English

·         Education: Completion of secondary school is required

·         Experience: 2-3 years of commercial cooking experience is required
