Position Info:

·         Position: Head Chef

·         Terms of employment: Full-time, Permanent

·         Wage: $37.50~$39.00/hour (depending on experience)

·         Working Hours: 30-40 hours/week

·         Number of Positions:  1

Job Duties:

·         Lead the daily preparation and cooking of sushi, sashimi, and entrees

·         Supervise kitchen staff and cooks during service to maintain efficiency and food quality

·         Manage the preparation of altered dishes for guests with food allergies or dietary restrictions

·         Train staff in cooking techniques, proper knife skills, and food safety standards

·         Estimate food consumption and kitchen needs to determine required order volumes

·         Order kitchen supplies, fresh ingredients from suppliers

·         Track food costs, inventory levels, sales patterns, and daily kitchen waste

·         Develop new recipes and plan menus that align with quality and cost standards

·         Arrange for the purchase, routine maintenance, and repair of kitchen equipment

Job requirements:

·         Experience: 5 or more years of commercial cooking experience in a supervisory or chef position

·         Education: Completion of secondary school is required

·         Language: English
