Responsibilities:
Tasks:
• Operate and manage daily sawmill production activities
• Assess logs and determine optimal cutting strategies to maximize lumber recovery and product value
• Monitor lumber quality, dimensions, and production efficiency
• Perform equipment setup, adjustments, and routine maintenance checks
• Ensure safe operation of all sawmill equipment and adherence to safety procedures
• Operate cranes, loaders, forklifts, and other material-handling equipment required for log and lumber movement
• Load and unload logs, lumber, and customer orders
• Coordinate material flow throughout the yard and production process
• Store cargo and materials
• Transport and distribute materials and goods
• Organize and maintain inventory
• Conduct pre-operational inspections and report maintenance requirements
• Coordinate daily yard activities and production priorities
• Coordinate material flow throughout the yard and production process

• Assist customers with product selection, order preparation, and pickups
• Process sales transactions and handle customer payments
• Represent the company professionally when interacting with customers and suppliers
• Resolve routine customer inquiries and operational issues
• May act as Yard Foreman in the absence of the owner
