Job Description:

Job Title: Cook (NOC 63200)
Vacancy: 1 position
Wage: $18.25-$21.25 per hour
Work Hours: 30-40 hours per week
Work Location: 789 Columbia Ave., Castlegar, B.C. V1N 1H1

Requirements:

Completion of secondary school education.
At least one year of relevant cooking experience preferred.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Physically fit and able to meet the physical requirements of the position.
Hardworking and passionate about culinary work.
Possess a positive working attitude and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Solid professional knowledge and a strong understanding of kitchen and culinary operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Cook assorted meals and individual dishes per customer orders.
Prepare various food materials and ingredients including sauces, raw meat, vegetables, garnishes and dining utensils.
Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment.
Minimize food wastage during preparation and dispose of waste in designated receptacles.
Maintain a clean and sanitary work area, and properly dispose of unsanitary items.
Oversee daily kitchen operational routines.
Provide training on food preparation and basic cooking procedures.
Supervise and assign daily tasks to kitchen staff and helpers.
