Position Info:

·         Position: Maintenance Carpenter

·         Terms of employment: Full-time, Permanent

·         Wage: $38.50-$40.00/hour (depending on experience)

·         Working Hours: 30-40 hours/week

Job Duties:

·         Inspect clubhouse, pro shop, restaurant and course outbuilding structures to identify repair and renovation needs

·         Interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to establish scope and sequence of work for clubhouse, restaurant and grounds projects

·         Fabricate and fasten components from wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials for cart paths, bridges, benches and course signage

·         Construct layouts that comply with building codes using appropriate measuring instruments

·         Mount and adjust windows, doors, staircases, mouldings and hardware throughout the facilities

·         Restore and upgrade wooden structures including pergolas, halfway houses, starter shacks and restaurant fixtures to extend service life

·         Calculate labour and material cost projections for seasonal maintenance and renovation projects

·         Oversee junior tradespeople and coordinate their daily work assignments during peak golf season

·         Establish quality control benchmarks and assurance procedures for completed carpentry work

·         Track and replenish stock of supplies and tools for the maintenance department

Job requirements:

·         Language: English

·         Education: Completion of secondary school is required

·         Experience: Five or more years of experience in carpentry is required
