Requirements
·     Language: English

·     Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

·     Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years

·     Work setting: Restaurant and bar

·     Food Safety Certificate

·     Cuisine specialties: Canadian and international

·     Criminal record check

Key responsibilities
·     Determine appropriate food portion sizes and related costs.

·     Plan menus and estimate the food requirements needed to prepare them.

·     Prepare and cook complete meals, individual dishes and other foods.

·     Prepare suitable dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances.

·     Inspect kitchen and food-service areas to ensure proper standards are maintained.

·     Train staff in food preparation, cooking and safe food-handling practices.

·     Supervise kitchen staff and helpers.

·     Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment.

·     Clean the kitchen and work areas.
