Overview

Alpine Cafe is seeking a Cook for our location in Whistler, BC.

 

Working conditions:

 

·       Wage: $25.00/hour + gratuities;

·       Working location and business address: 8104 McKeevers Pl, Whistler, BC, V8E 1K5, Canada

·       32 – 40 hours per week (early morning, morning, day, weekend, on call);

·       Overtimes are paid at 1,5 rate for hours exceeding 40 hours/week or 8 hours/day

·       4% vacation.

 

As a Cook, you are expected to perform the following duties:

·       Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes according to company recipes.

·       Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to company recipes using various kitchen equipment;

·       Wash, cut, chop and peel ingredients;

·       Slice vegetables, meats, and bread products, and portion them appropriately;

·       Precook necessary ingredients as well as pre-assemble dishes and ingredients with appropriate portions;

·       Portion, arrange, and garnish food;

·       Maintain inventory of food, supplies, and equipment;

·       Monitor and order supplies as required;

·       Ensure all food is prepared fresh and is of the highest quality;

·       Communicate effectively with other kitchen staff;

·       Constantly use safe and hygienic food handling practices.

 

Job requirements:

Must have completed high school;
Must have at least 2 years of commercial cooking experience;
Must be able to multi-task and plan ahead, reliable, and team player;
Must be able to work under minimum supervision and in a fast-paced environment, perform repetitive tasks and stand for extended periods;
Must be able to speak fluently in English.
