Position Info:

·         Position: Cook

·         Terms of employment: Full-time, Permanent

·         Wage: $25.00/hour

·         Working Hours: 30-40 hours/week

·         Number of Positions: 2

·         Work Location: 702 Vernon Street, Nelson, BC V1L 4G2

Benefits:

·         4% vacation pay

Job Duties:

·         Assemble and finish Japanese dishes, following the restaurant’s recipes and plating standards

·         Adjust dishes for customers with allergies or restrictions, substituting ingredients where needed

·         Operate kitchen equipment such as grills and knives safely during service

·         Portion dishes according to recipe standards to support the restaurant’s food cost targets

·         Monitor inventory levels during prep and flag kitchen supply needs to the supervisor

·         Demonstrate cooking techniques and reinforce food handling standards when training new kitchen staff

·         Sanitize kitchen surfaces, equipment, and work stations after each shift

Job requirements:

·         Language: English

·         Education: Completion of secondary school is required.

·         Experience: 2-3 years of commercial cooking experience is required.
