Building Maintenance Worker

Location: Victoria, BC V8V 1W3
Work location: On site

Salary: $28.85 hourly / 40 hours per week

Terms of employment: Permanent employment
Full time: Night, Day, Weekend

Starts: as soon as possible

Languages: English

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years

On site:
Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.

Work setting: Hotel, motel, resort

Responsibilities:
Tasks:
• To be proactive towards maintenance and to work to a high standard.
• Measuring and managing inventory of works and materials needed
• Carpentry, plumbing and electrical works as required at the hotel
• To work on a variety of maintenance projects assigned by Maintenance Manager
• To work on elevated platform when required

• To work in accordance with all relevant codes, legislation, and hotel procedures
• To have a high standard of Health and Safety awareness and conduct.
• Working with contractor and completing complex preventative and maintenance tasks
• Problem solving to determine best practice
• Perform duties as required by the Maintenance Manager and other internal stakeholders
• Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing and electrical systems, and contact tradespersons for major repairs
• Perform safety and security checks
• Move heavy furniture, equipment and supplies
• Perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair
• Work with minimal supervision
