Position Info:

·         Position: Chef

·         Terms of employment: Full-time, Permanent

·         Wage: $28.00~$35.00/hour (depending on experience)

·         Working Hours: 30~40 hours/week

·         Number of Positions:  2

·         Work Location: 10-4890 Rutherford Road, Nanaimo, BC V9T 4Z4

Benefits:

·         4% vacation pay

Job Duties:

·         Prepare and cook foods on a regular basis

·         Plan menus and ensure products meet quality control standards

·         Supervise activities of cooks and kitchen workers

·         Direct cooks in food preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes

·         Analyze and estimate operating and labour costs

·         Keep records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory

·         Arrange for kitchen equipment purchases and repairs

·         Recruit and train kitchen staff as necessary

Job requirements:

·         Experience: 2-3 years of commercial cooking experience is required

·         Education: Completion of secondary school is required

·         Language: English
