Overview

Position Info:

·         Position: Chef

·         Terms of employment: Full-time, Permanent

·         Wage: $35.00~$37.00 hour (depending on experience)

·         Working Hours: 30-40 hours/week

·         Number of Positions:  1

·         Work Location: 19 Helmcken Road suite 135, Victoria BC V8Z 5G5

Job Duties:

·         Prepare and cook meals or specialty dishes.

·         Plan and direct food preparation and cooking activities in the restaurant.

·         Supervise the work of first cooks, line cooks, and other kitchen staff.

·         Demonstrate new cooking techniques and the use of equipment to kitchen staff.

·         Train staff in the preparation, cooking, and handling of food.

·         Develop menus and ensure all food meets established quality standards.

·         Prepare dishes tailored to customers with food allergies or dietary restrictions.

·         Manage the recruitment, hiring, and supervision of kitchen staff.

·         Coordinate the purchase, maintenance, and repair of kitchen equipment.

·         Order ingredients and requisition necessary kitchen supplies.

·         Instruct cooks in food preparation, cooking techniques, garnishing, and presentation.

·         Participate in creating new recipes.

 

Job requirements:

·         Experience: 2~3 years of commercial cooking experience is required

·         Education: Completion of secondary school is required

·         Language: English
