Overview

We are a family in Maple Ridge in B.C. seeking a caring, responsible, and experienced Childcare Provider-private home to support the daily care needs of our child. The caregiver will provide nurturing, patient, and attentive care in a safe and loving home environment.

Number of position available: 1
Location: Intersection of Cottonwood Drive and 116th Avenue, Maple Ridge, BC

Work Setting: Employer’s private home in Maple Ridge, B.C
Wage: $20.00 per hour
Hours: 30 hours per week. Rotating schedule required due to employers’ work schedules. Shifts may include mornings, early mornings, days, evenings, nights, and weekends. Overtime may be available as needed.

Job Duties

  • Deliver full-time care, supervision, and ensure the child’s safety within the employer’s home.
  • Take full responsibility for childcare and related household duties when the parents are away.
  • Support daily care routines such as feeding, diaper changing, dressing, bathing, and maintaining proper hygiene according to the child’s age.
  • Follow and maintain the child’s daily schedule, including nap times, meals, and structured play periods.
  • Prepare and provide healthy meals, snacks, and bottles as required.
  • Organize and participate in age-appropriate activities that promote development, including reading, sensory play, outdoor walks, and exercises that build motor skills.
  • Observe the child’s physical, emotional, and social progress and communicate updates to the parents.
  • Maintain a tidy, safe, and organized environment for the child by sanitizing toys, cleaning play areas, and tidying up after meals and activities.
  • Carry out light housekeeping tasks related to the child, such as washing the child’s laundry, cleaning bottles, and keeping the child’s room organized.
  • Handle emergency situations appropriately and consistently follow the household’s safety guidelines.
  • Respect and follow the parents’ instructions regarding toilet training, routines, discipline approaches, health requirements, and developmental goals.
  • Transport and accompany the child to outings, activities, or appointments.
  • Travel with the family as required and assist with childcare and related housekeeping duties during trips.
  • Foster a warm, supportive, and nurturing environment that promotes the child’s comfort, security, and overall well-being.

Qualifications:

7 months to less than 1 year of childcare experience
Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required
Valid CPR and First Aid Certificate
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and
Driving Record Check (abstract)
A criminal record check is required upon hire
Must be reliable, caring, patient, and able to work independently
