Hiring a Wholesale Buyer

Qualifications

Completion of secondary school is required. A university degree or college diploma in business, commerce, supply chain management, or a related field is considered an asset.
Previous work experience with a wholesale distributor and/or trading company is required.
Knowledge of Korean and Asian food products and produce is considered an asset.
Proficiency in English is required.
Responsibilities

Select and purchase Korean and Asian food products and produce that best meet the company’s resale requirements.
Determine the type and quantity of food products and produce to be purchased.
Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, and negotiate prices, terms, and delivery schedules.
Monitor inventory levels and report stock requirements to management.
Working Conditions

Permanent, full-time position consisting of 30 hours per week.
Wage: $38.40 per hour.
10 days of paid vacation annually or 4% vacation pay, in accordance with applicable employment standards.
Flexibility to work varying hours, including early mornings and Saturdays, is required.
