WANTED: ACCOUNTING TECHNICIAN

 

Employer: Breka Bakery Creations Inc.

Position: Accounting Technician (Permanent/full-time)

Number of Opening: 1

 

Work Location: #101 – 8811 Laurel Street, Vancouver, BC V6P 3V9

Wage: $29-$37 per hour (Depending on Experience)

Hours: 40 hours per week

  • Must be available to work on weekends.

Job duties:

  • Maintain and keep company’s financial reports and records such as monthly accounting records, GST/HST returns, interim financial statements, reconcile accounts etc.
  • Post journal entries and reconcile accounts, prepare trial balance of books, maintain general ledgers, and prepare financial statements.
  • Communicate with the related departments, organizations and teams regarding financial information requests, assessments, and installments.
  • Participate in meetings for general accounting planning.
  • Support and train staff to use accounting software(s).
  • Assist to implement and configure accounting software and program.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Language: English
  • Education: Completion of 1~2 years of post-secondary program in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Experience:
  • o   Minimum one (1) year of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or financial administration.
  • o   Experience preparing account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reports is required.
  • o   Experience working with accounting software and Microsoft Excel is required.
  • o   Experience supporting month-end and year-end accounting processes is required.
  • o   Experience performing full-cycle accounting in a Canadian business environment is considered an asset.
  • o   Experience using NetSuite ERP software is considered an asset.
  • o   Experience using Power BI, Excel Power Query, or similar reporting and data analysis tools is considered an asset.
  • o   Experience generating operational and financial reports from point-of-sale systems such as Toast POS, Lightspeed POS, or similar retail and hospitality platforms is considered an asset.
  • o   Experience reconciling high-volume sales, payment processor, and cash receipts transactions is considered an asset.
  • o   Experience supporting multiple business locations or multiple legal entities is considered an asset.
  • Additional Skills & Abilities
  • o   Ability to work with large data sets and perform detailed account and transaction analysis.
  • o   Ability to extract, validate, and reconcile information from accounting, banking, payroll, and point-of-sale systems.
  • o   Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, data analysis, and financial reporting.
  • o   Ability to learn and support new financial technologies, accounting systems, and reporting platforms.
  •  Working Conditions
  • o   Must be available to work on weekends.
  • o   Must be available to work during month-end, quarter-end, year-end, and statutory filing periods.
  • o   Must be able to support accounting and reporting functions for a multi-location organization operating seven days per week.
  • o   Must be able to manage multiple recurring deadlines and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
