Position Info:

·         Position: Home Child Care Provider

·         Terms of employment: Full-time, Permanent

·         Wage: $20.00-$22.00/hour (depending on experience)

·         Working Hours: 30-40 hours/week

·         Number of Positions:  1

·         Work Location: 9989 Barnston Dr E Unit 26, Surrey, BC V4N 6N3

Job Duties:

·         Provide daily supervision and care for two school-aged children in the family home

·         Prepare and serve healthy meals and snacks according to the children’s daily needs

·         Assist the children with homework, school assignments and other age-appropriate learning activities

·         Arrange and participate in suitable recreational activities, outings and indoor or outdoor activities

·         Provide transportation or accompany the children to and from school, appointments and scheduled activities as required

·         Encourage appropriate behaviour and provide guidance in accordance with the parents’ preferred methods

·         Support the children’s emotional well-being and provide appropriate attention, encouragement and companionship

·         Encourage good personal hygiene, social skills and age-appropriate independence

·         Maintain a safe, clean and healthy home environment for the children

·         Perform light housekeeping duties related to the children’s care, including tidying their areas and cleaning up after meals and activities

Job requirements:

·         Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of childcare or household management experience is required

·         Education: Completion of a certificate or training program in childcare or a related field is required

·         Language: English
