Position Info:

·         Position: Geophysical Technician

·         Terms of employment: Full-time, Permanent

·         Wage: $80,500 – $81,500/year (depending on experience)

·         Working Hours: 30-40 hours/week

Job Duties:

·         Carry out geological, geophysical, and geochemical survey work, including prospecting expeditions, exploratory drilling operations, and well logging

·         Oversee the planning and execution of geological and geophysical survey programs

·         Examine and interpret data relating to petroleum and mineral reservoir characteristics

·         Manage the drilling, completion, and work-over processes for oil and gas wells

·         Coordinate the preparation of rock, mineral, and metal samples for laboratory analysis

·         Undertake physical and chemical laboratory testing procedures on collected samples

·         Formulate mitigation measures to reduce adverse environmental impacts from mining and oil and gas operations

·         Execute environmental audit procedures

·         Compile field notes, sketches, geological maps, and cross-sectional diagrams

Job Requirements:

·         Language: English

·         Education: completion of a 1 or 2-year college program in electronics or geological technology or in a related discipline is required

·         Experience: 3-5 years of related experience is required
