Position Info:

· Position: Tilesetter

· Terms of employment: Full-time, Permanent

· Wage: $38.50~$40.00/hour (depending on experience)

· Working Hours: 30-40 hours/week

· Number of Positions: 2

· Work Location: 2841 Foul Bay Rd, Victoria, BC V8R 5C3

Benefits:

· 4% vacation pay

Job Duties:

· Set and install tile across residential and high-rise projects, mixing and applying mortar, thinset, and adhesives, then aligning for level, plumb, and consistent spacing

· Measure and prepare wall and floor substrates, including building underbeds and installing anchor bolts, wiring, and brackets

· Cut and fit tile around fixtures and obstructions using hand and power tools, tying in trim strips for a finished edge

· Grout completed installations, clean excess material, and inspect finished work to catch and correct any misaligned or damaged pieces before handoff

· Fabricate, polish, and install natural stone and granite surfaces to client specifications

· Train and oversee junior tilesetters and apprentices on-site, checking technique and workmanship

· Mix, pour, and polish terrazzo flooring to a smooth, consistent finish

· Communicate directly with homeowners, contractors, and site supervisors to keep projects on schedule and meet the company’s standard for clean, professional service

· Prepare tenders, quotations, and project estimates for prospective tile and stone work

· Review new tile products and installation methods and apply them where suited on client projects

Job Requirements:

· Language: English

· Education: Completion of secondary school is required

· Experience: Minimum of 5 or more years of experience in tilesetting is required
