Overview
Position Info:
- Position: Carpenter
- Terms of employment: Full-time, Permanent
- Wage: $30.00 – $33.00/hour (depending on experience)
- Working Hours: 30-40 hours/week
- Number of Positions: 2
- Work Location: 1728 Extension Road, Nanaimo, BC V9X 1C7

Job Duties:
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements
- Measure, cut, assemble, shape, and join materials like wood, lightweight steel, and others
- Install and fit various components such as doors, stairs, moldings, and hardware
- Lay subflooring, build walls and roofing systems, and construct foundations
- Maintain, repair, and renovate homes and wooden structures at various locations, including mills, mines, hospitals, industrial facilities
- Mentor apprentices and oversee other construction workers
Job requirements:
- Language: English
- Experience: 2~3 years of experience in carpentry is required
- Education: Completion of secondary school is required
