Diana Distribution Centre Ltd. is seeking an experienced Senior Meat Cutter to prepare, cut, portion, process, weigh, package, and label a variety of meat products for distribution to restaurants and food-service clients. The successful candidate will operate meat-cutting and processing equipment, maintain product quality and proper storage procedures, maintain a clean and safe work environment, and provide training and practical guidance to junior meat cutters regarding established work procedures and safe equipment operation.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Prepare, cut, weigh, portion, package, and label a variety of meat and meat products according to established product specifications and customer requirements.

·         Prepare meat products using appropriate cutting, slicing, grinding, and portioning techniques.

·         Grind meat and slice cooked meat using powered grinders and slicing machines.

·         Operate meat-cutting and processing equipment, including band saws, sausage-making machines, slicing machines, and manual meat-cutting tools and utensils.

·         Inspect meat products for quality, freshness, condition, and expiry dates and follow established product-rotation procedures.

·         Receive and store meat products in accordance with established food-handling and storage procedures.

·         Clean, sanitize, and maintain meat-cutting equipment, tools, storage areas, and work areas in accordance with company procedures.

·         Perform routine equipment checks and promptly report equipment malfunctions, defects, or safety concerns.

·         Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary meat preparation and storage area.

·         Follow applicable government food safety, sanitation, occupational health and safety, and workplace safety requirements, as well as company policies and procedures.

·         Provide training and practical guidance to junior meat cutters regarding established meat preparation procedures and the safe operation of equipment.

Education Requirement: Completion of secondary school is required.

Work Experience and Skills Requirements:

·         Minimum of 1 year of work experience as a meat cutter or in a closely related meat preparation position.

·         Experience cutting, portioning, weighing, packaging, and labelling meat products.

·         Proficiency in operating meat-cutting and processing equipment, including band saws, meat slicing machines, powered meat grinders, sausage-making machines, and manual meat-cutting tools and utensils.

·         Ability to inspect meat products for quality, freshness, and proper condition and follow product-rotation procedures.

·         Ability to perform physically demanding duties, including lifting and handling items weighing up to 50 lbs.

·         Ability to work safely and effectively in cold and refrigerated environments.

·         Ability to follow established food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
