We are seeking an experienced qualified electrician to join our team who is enthusiastic and passionate about delivering a first-class service and understands and ensures the needs of the client are met on each and every successful project.
THE ROLE:
As an Electrician you will work on a range of residential and commercial projects reporting to the DHL Electrical Senior Management team, and carry out the following duties and responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
• Build and install electrical containment systems, including cable trays, baskets, conduits, and trunking.
• Install cables through various containment systems.
• Stalling, assembling and dressing distribution panels across all voltage levels.
• Install and wire lighting and power systems.
• Perform residential service upgrades.
• Install electric vehicle (EV) charging plugs.
• Conduct fault finding and troubleshooting and resolve and potential electrical issues.
• Read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and architectural drawings and electrical code specifications for wiring layouts.
• Planned layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures based on specifications and applicable code.
REQUIREMENTS:
Qualifications:
• Completion of Secondary School.
• At least 5 years’ experience in the electrical field.
• Electrician Trade Certification / Red Seal Qualification.
• Full Class 5 B.C. Driver’s License.
• Fluent written and spoken English is essential.
Skills and Competencies:
• Proficient with EV and smart home automation infrastructure.
• Experience with power distribution systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical plans and blueprints.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate with team members, technicians and management in an effective and collaborative manner.
• Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
• Following, implementing, and supervision on site- safety and quality control measures.
• Working Knowledge of local, provincial, and federal electrical safety regulations and safety codes.
• Ability to solve problems and make on the spot decisions.
• Track record of meeting deadlines and working in a fast-paced work environment while maintaining high quality standards.
• Must be in good physical condition and be able to lift 25-50 lbs frequently, be able to bend, stoop and twist.
