Position Info:

·         Position: Early Childhood Educator

·         Terms of employment: Full-time, Permanent

·         Wage: $39.00-$40.00/hour (depending on experience/certification)

·         Working Hours: 30-40 hours/week

·         Number of Positions: 2

·         Work Location: 601 Queens Ave, New Westminster, BC V3M 1L1

Job Duties:

·         Design and implement daily child-care programs that support children’s physical, cognitive, emotional and social growth

·         Observe each child’s development and prepare an individual learning plan based on their needs

·         Provide a safe and healthy environment that protects children’s well-being and meets licensing regulations

·         Conduct group activities such as storytelling, songs, crafts and outing

·         Foster creativity through art, dramatic play, music and physical activity

·         Teach children proper eating, dressing and toileting habits

·         Report on each child’s progress and any concerns to parents and at staff meetings

·         Oversee staff, trainees and volunteers

·         Inspect daycare equipment and purchase supplies as needed

Job requirements:

·         Language: English

·         Education: College Certificate or Diploma in Early Childhood Education is required

·         Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience of working in early childhood education is required

·         Certification: First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate, and ECE Certificate
