We are searching for a dedicated and experienced Assistant Restaurant Manager to join our team. You will play a key role in delivering exceptional guest experiences across the hotel’s renowned Food & Beverage outlets, including Q at the Empress, Q Bar, Veranda, Lobby Lounge, and In-Room Dining, on a rotational basis. Supporting overall restaurant operations, you will assist in supervising service teams, ensuring smooth day-to-day function, and upholding Fairmont’s high standards in luxury hospitality.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Supervise daily front-of-house operations across various food and beverage venues, ensuring consistent delivery of luxury guest experiences.
• Lead, coach, and inspire service teams to uphold brand standards, service protocols, and performance expectations.
• Respond promptly to guest feedback and service issues, maintaining a high level of professionalism and guest satisfaction.
• Coordinate scheduling, task delegation, and shift management to optimize team productivity.
• Oversee training and development initiatives to build staff capability and service excellence.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant dining environment in accordance with health and safety regulations.
• Liaise with cross-functional hotel departments to support smooth coordination of services and events.
• Monitor inventory usage and assist with procurement to ensure seamless operations.
• Support strategic service improvements by identifying operational efficiencies and implementing best practices.
• Represent management in departmental meetings and support broader hotel initiatives and guest programs.
Employment requirements:
• Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum 1-2 years of supervisory or management experience in Food & Beverage, preferably within an upscale full-service hotel or restaurant.
• Valid Serving It Right and Food Safe Level One certifications.
• Proven leadership experience in a similar role.
• Customer-focused mindset with a strong passion for food and beverage excellence.
• Skilled in using restaurant POS systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel for scheduling and reporting.
• Solid knowledge of health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
• Experience with inventory management, staff scheduling, and budget oversight.
• Wine expertise at or above WSET Level 2 certification.
• Flexible availability, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.
