Position Info:

·         Position: Retail Butcher

·         Terms of employment: Full-time, Permanent

·         Wage: $38.50~$40.00/hour (depending on experience)

·         Working Hours: 30-40 hours/week

·         Number of Positions:  1

·         Work Location: 14390 104 Avenue, Surrey, BC V3T 1Y3

Job Duties:

·         Break down carcasses, sides and quarters into primal and sub-primal sections

·         Fill customer orders for specialty cuts to specified thickness and weight

·         Debone meat to prepare cuts for retail sale

·         Trim and portion meat into standard retail cuts

·         Tie and shape roasts and other cuts for sale and display

·         Process poultry into parts for the display case

·         Grind meat products as needed for ground meat items

·         Determine pricing for meat products sold at the counter

·         Record weights of items and package finished cuts for sale

·         Build displays of meat, poultry and seafood items and assist customers with purchases

 

Job requirements:

·         Experience: 3~5 years of experience in retail meat cutting and butchery, including carcass breakdown, boning, and custom order preparation

·         Education: Completion of secondary school is required

·         Language: English
