Overview

Hapag Ihaw-Ihaw is a small, casual restaurant that offers authentic Filipino food. We make everything from scratch in our kitchen and take pride on the food we serve. We have a strong work ethic, keep a clean and organized kitchen, pay attention to details and are focused on good customer service.

We are looking to hire a hardworking, responsible LINE COOK to join our kitchen. If you are a team player, reliable, your work values are similar to ours and want to learn a new cuisine, consider joining us. The candidate must be good at multitasking, fast and efficient, professional and must really like cooking. You must be eligible to work in Canada, with a valid work permit or with permanent resident or citizen status.

Your responsibilities include but not limited to the following:

-prepare and cook dishes according to company spec and in a timely manner

-process proteins and vegetables – includes wrapping springrolls and skewering meat

-set up, clean, sanitize and take down workstations

-practice food safety, maintain record of inventory, order and put away delivery

-operate meat cutter, food processor, fryer

-supervise kitchen helpers and train new staff

 

This is a physically demanding job, requiring long hours of standing on your feet and lifting heavy load, repetitive tasks and working under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Wage per hour: $18-$20, depending on experience

Minimum Education requirement: Secondary High School

Minimum work experience: at least 1 year cooking experience
