Overview

Position Info:

·         Position: Carpenter

·         Terms of employment: Full-time, Permanent

·         Wage: $35.00 – $38.00/hour (depending on experience)

·         Working Hours: 30-40 hours/week

·         Number of Positions: 2

·         Work Location: 2004-1770 Pendrell Street, Vancouver, BC V6G 0C5

Job Duties:

·         Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements

·         Measure, cut, assemble, shape, and join materials made of wood, lightweight steel, and others

·         Maintain, repair, and renovate homes and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial facilities, and other locations

·         Install and fit components such as doors, stairs, moldings, and hardware

·         Lay subflooring, construct walls and roofing systems, and build foundations

·         Guide apprentices and oversee other construction workers

·         Perform various trade tasks during home construction or renovation projects

·         Coordinate implementations of repairs, maintenance and renovation

·         Suggest or organize additional work services needed, including painting, repair work, renovations, or replacement of furnishings and equipment

 

Job requirements:

·         Language: English

·         Experience: 2~3 years of experience in carpentry is required

·         Education: Completion of secondary school is required
