Overview

Our family is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Home Support Worker to provide full-time care for a senior in Vancouver, BC. We are looking for someone who is reliable, patient, and committed to ensuring the highest level of care and support. On-the-job training will be provided as needed.

Job Summary:

Position title:                    Home Support Worker (NOC 44101)

Work schedule:                 30 hours per week
Work location:                  6963 Laurel Street, Vancouver, BC, Canada, V6P 3T6
Salary:                               $23 per hour
Benefits:                           4% vacation pay; 2 weeks paid vacation after one year
Required language:         English

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with bathing and personal hygiene, ensuring comfort and safety.
  • Change adult diapers and maintain proper skin care to prevent irritation.
  • Feed meals and ensure proper nutrition, following dietary guidelines.
  • Administer medications as prescribed by healthcare professionals.
  • Change gastric tube dressings and perform necessary wound care as needed.
  • Assist with rehabilitation exercises for the right hand to support recovery and mobility improvement.
  • Monitor overall health conditions and report any concerns to family members or medical personnel.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum secondary school graduation.
  • 1-2 years of related experience required.
