Overview
Our family is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Home Support Worker to provide full-time care for a senior in Vancouver, BC. We are looking for someone who is reliable, patient, and committed to ensuring the highest level of care and support. On-the-job training will be provided as needed.
Job Summary:
Position title: Home Support Worker (NOC 44101)
Positions available: 1
Starting date: As soon as possible
Position type: Permanent, full time
Work schedule: 30 hours per week
Work location: 6963 Laurel Street, Vancouver, BC, Canada, V6P 3T6
Salary: $23 per hour
Benefits: 4% vacation pay; 2 weeks paid vacation after one year
Required language: English
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with bathing and personal hygiene, ensuring comfort and safety.
- Change adult diapers and maintain proper skin care to prevent irritation.
- Feed meals and ensure proper nutrition, following dietary guidelines.
- Administer medications as prescribed by healthcare professionals.
- Change gastric tube dressings and perform necessary wound care as needed.
- Assist with rehabilitation exercises for the right hand to support recovery and mobility improvement.
- Monitor overall health conditions and report any concerns to family members or medical personnel.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Minimum secondary school graduation.
- 1-2 years of related experience required.
