Position Info:

·         Position: Head Chef

·         Terms of employment: Full-time, Permanent

·         Wage: $37.00/hour

·         Working Hours: 30-40 hours/week

·         Number of Positions:  1

Benefits:

Job Duties:

·         Develop and update menu offerings while ensuring that all dishes meet the restaurant’s quality and presentation standards

·         Oversee and coordinate the daily activities of cooks and kitchen staff to maintain efficient kitchen operations

·         Prepare and cook a variety of sushi and Japanese specialty dishes in accordance with established recipes and standards

·         Monitor and record food costs, ingredient usage, and inventory levels to support effective kitchen cost control

·         Order and manage food ingredients and kitchen supplies to ensure sufficient stock for daily operations

·         Introduce new culinary techniques and provide guidance on the proper use of kitchen equipment to improve food preparation processes

·         Train and mentor kitchen staff in food preparation methods, cooking techniques, and safe food handling procedures

Job requirements:

·         Experience: 3-5 years of commercial cooking experience is required

·         Education: Completion of secondary school is required

·         Language: English
