Position Info:

·         Position: Carpenter

·         Terms of employment: Full-time, Permanent

·         Wage: $38.50/hr

·         Working Hours: 30-40 hours/week

·         Number of Positions: 2

·         Work Location: 2786 Lake Breeze Court, Langford, BC V9B 6L6

Benefits:

·         4% vacation pay

Job Duties:

·         Review construction drawings, blueprints and specifications to identify measurements, materials and job requirements

·         Measure, cut, shape, assemble and install wood, engineered wood, light-gauge steel and other construction materials using appropriate hand and power tools

·         Lay out carpentry work according to project specifications and applicable building codes, using measuring and levelling equipment

·         Construct and install floor framing, subfloors, wall framing and other structural components as required for residential and commercial projects

·         Install doors, windows, stairs, mouldings, trim, hardware and other finishing components

·         Determine the type and quantity of materials required for assigned carpentry work and assist with material and cost estimates

·         Repair, replace and renovate existing wooden structures and building components as part of renovation and improvement projects

·         Check completed carpentry work for proper alignment, measurements, structural integrity and compliance with project specifications

Job Requirements:

·         Language: English

·         Experience: 3-5 years of carpentry experience is required

·         Education: Completion of secondary school is required
