Main duties

• Preparation of soil, planting seeds, weeding, grafting and bud crops; and transplant seedlings and rooted cuttings

• Cultivating, irrigating, and harvesting field crops.

• Pick row and orchard crops.

• Follow food safety and security and animal bio-security procedures.

• Spray plants with fertilizer or pesticide to prevent disease, weeds, and pests, and detect disease and other problems in crops

• Detect disease and health problems in crops.

• Sort, weigh and pack fruit and vegetables at the farm.

• Load, unload and transfer crates, supplies, farm produce and products for transport.

• Clean up workplace, including cleaning racks, trays, tables, harvest bins and general clean up of growing, producing and packing areas.

• Examine produce for quality and prepare for market.

• Assist in the maintenance of facilities and farm infrastructure,

• Perform other duties as per instructions.

• Basic farm knowledge or previous experience as farm worker would be an asset.
