Overview

Position Info:

·         Position: Sushi Chef

·         Terms of employment: Full-time, Permanent

·         Wage: $38.50/hr

·         Working Hours: 30-40 hours/week

·         Number of Positions:  3

·         Location: 1-45540 Market Way, Chilliwack, BC V2R 0M5

Benefits:

·         4% vacation pay

Job Duties:

·         Prepare and cook sushi, sashimi, rolls, oshi sushi, aburi items, and other Japanese dishes according to the restaurant’s recipes and quality standards

·         Plan and direct daily food preparation activities in the sushi bar and kitchen to ensure smooth and efficient service

·         Create and develop new sushi items, specialty rolls, and seasonal menu offerings based on customer demand and ingredient availability

·         Supervise cooks and kitchen staff involved in preparing, cooking, garnishing, and presenting food

·         Instruct kitchen staff on proper sushi preparation techniques, food handling procedures, plating, and presentation standards

·         Estimate food and supply requirements and monitor ingredient usage to support accurate ordering and inventory control

·         Maintain records of food costs, inventory, consumption, and kitchen supplies to help control operating costs

·         Ensure all dishes meet the restaurant’s quality standards, including freshness, taste, portion size, presentation, and food safety requirements

Job Requirements:

·         Language: English

·         Experience: Minimum 5 years of related cooking experience is required

·         Education: Completion of secondary school is required
