Position: Child care provider – private home

Locations of Work: Toronto, ON M4V 2L5; Milford Bay, ON P0B 1E0

Wage: $36 hourly / 36 to 40 hours per week

Start Date: As soon as possible

Job Requirements

Language: English

Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year, or equivalent experience

Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years

On site: Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.

Work site environment: Non-smoking

Work setting: Employer’s home. Work in employer’s/client’s home.

Job duties and responsibilities include:

·       Assume full responsibility for household in absence of parents

·       Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties

·       Travel with family on trips and assist with child supervision and housekeeping duties

·       Care for pets

·       Discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents

·       Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home

·       Organize, activities such as games and outings for children

·       Prepare and serve nutritious meals

·       Supervise and care for children

·       Take children to and from school and to appointments

·       Tend to emotional well-being of children

·       Help children with homework

Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses: CPR Certificate, First Aid Certificate.

Experience and specialization:

·       Target audience: Supervise and care for multi-aged group of children

·       Experience with special needs children: Children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) or attention deficit disorder (ADD)

Security and safety: Criminal record check, Reference required.

Transportation/travel information: Willing to travel

Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail

Personal suitability: Efficient interpersonal skills, Excellent oral communication, Flexibility, Initiative, Judgement, Organized, Reliability, Time management, Patience, Honesty.
