Overview

Position Info:

·         Position: Head Chef

·         Terms of employment: Full-time, Permanent

·         Wage: $37.00/hour

·         Working Hours: 30-40 hours/week

·         Number of Positions: 1

·         Work Location: 2650 Main St, Vancouver, BC V5T 3E6

Benefits:

·         4% vacation pay

Job Duties:

·         Direct and supervise daily food preparation and cooking operations with a focus on authentic Thai cuisine

·         Prepare and cook complete Thai cuisine dishes and specialty dishes, including sauces

·         Develop and update menus while ensuring all dishes meet consistent quality and presentation standards

·         Estimate food supply needs and manage food and labour costs to support efficient kitchen operations

·         Lead and supervise kitchen staff to ensure smooth workflow and high production standards

·         Coordinate the selection, purchase, and maintenance of kitchen equipment and arrange repairs when required

·         Recruit, hire and train new kitchen staff in safety procedures and job duties

·         Maintain accurate records of food costs and inventory to support kitchen planning

·         Evaluate kitchen staff to ensure strong culinary performance

·         Ensure all food safety, sanitation, and kitchen maintenance standards are followed

Job Requirements:

·         Language: English

·         Experience: 3-5 years of commercial cooking experience including supervisory responsibilities is required

·         Education: Completion of secondary school is required
