Position Info:

· Position: Early Childhood Educator

· Terms of employment: Full-time, Permanent

· Wage: $38.50/hour

· Working Hours: 30-40 hours/week

· Number of Positions: 2

· Work Location: 5989 Nelson Ave, Burnaby, BC V5H 3H8

Benefits:

· 4% vacation pay

Job Duties:

· Design and execute early childhood programs that promote children’s physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development

· Ensure a safe, clean, and supportive classroom environment that meets provincial licensing regulations and ensures children’s safety, health, and security

· Assess individual child development and progress to create customized learning and care plans

· Monitor child behavior and growth, preparing objective reports for parents and management regarding any learning or behavioral concerns

· Supervise and coordinate the daily classroom tasks and activities of early childhood educators and ECE assistants

· Apply thorough knowledge of child care licensing regulations to daily center operations and program delivery

· Maintain active and regular communication with parents to share updates on their child’s daily progress and overall development

· Lead creative and interactive activities including arts and crafts, music, dramatic play, and physical games

· Build positive, professional working relationships with colleagues, management, and relevant community support services

Job requirements:

· Experience: 2-3 years of experience in early childhood education or childcare is required

· Education: College Certificate or diploma in early childhood education is required

· Certificate: First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate, ECE Certificate

· Language: English
