Overview

Position Info:

·         Position: Sushi Chef

·         Terms of employment: Full-time, Permanent

·         Wage: $25.00/hour

·         Working Hours: 30-40 hours/week

·         Number of Positions:  1

·         Work Location: 1-612 Head Street, Victoria, BC V9A 5S8

Benefits:

·         4% vacation pay

Job Duties:

·         Prepare and cook sushi, sashimi, rolls, and other Japanese menu items on a regular basis according to the restaurant’s recipes and quality standards

·         Plan and prepare ingredients for sushi and other specialty dishes, ensuring proper portioning, freshness, and presentation

·         Monitor food inventory and maintain records of ingredient usage, food costs, and kitchen supplies as required

·         Requisition food and kitchen supplies needed for daily sushi preparation and overall kitchen operations

·         Train kitchen staff in basic food preparation, sushi handling, sanitation procedures, and safe food handling practices

·         Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or dietary restrictions while following proper food safety and cross contamination prevention procedures

Job requirements:

·         Language: English

·         Experience: 2-3 years of commercial cooking experience is required

·         Education: Completion of secondary school is required
