We are seeking a hard-working Poultry Farm Worker / Chicken Catcher to join our team. You will play a vital role in supporting daily farm operations by safely and efficiently handling live poultry, maintaining clean and sanitary barn environments, and following strict biosecurity protocols. You will also catch and load birds for transport, clean and disinfect poultry barns and equipment, assist with flock care, and ensure animal welfare standards are upheld at all times.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Catch and handle live chickens by hand and place them into transport crates or drawers safely, without causing harm.
• Load poultry into transport containers efficiently while following all animal welfare standards.
• Monitor and record poultry counts for shipping, storage, and reporting purposes.
• Clean, disinfect, and maintain poultry barns, equipment, and coops to ensure hygiene and prevent disease spread.
• Prepare and maintain feeding, breeding, and flock health records.
• Administer or assist in vaccination procedures and monitor poultry for signs of illness or distress.
• Set and regulate barn systems such as water lines, airflow, and temperature controls in coops.
• Support daily flock care and monitor the health of poultry regularly to identify and report any health issues.
• Perform breeding-related activities and nurture poultry to ensure proper development.
• Follow strict biosecurity, food safety, and animal welfare protocols as per farm and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with farm teams to maintain cleanliness, safety, and smooth farm operations.

Employment requirements:
• Prior farm or livestock handling experience is an asset.
• Basic understanding of farm safety and biosecurity procedures is an asset.
• Ability to work graveyard or early morning shifts (11:00 PM – 10:00 AM).
• Physically fit and able to lift, push, or pull up to 40 lbs.
• Comfortable working in farm conditions (dust, odors, live animals, low lighting).
• Steel-toe safety boots required.
• Must wear dark-colored clothing on duty.
• Willingness to receive and follow on-site training.
