Job Title:  Child Caregiver – Private Home

Wage: $21.00 per hour

Hours of Work: 30 hours per week

Terms of Employment: Full-time, Permanent Position

Work Location: Scarborough,  ON

Start Date: As soon as possible

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

·       Supervise and care for one child in the employer’s residence

·       Assume full responsibility for the household in the absence of parents

·       Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks

·       Help the child with homework and educational activities

·       Travel with family on trips and assist with child supervision and housekeeping duties

·       Wash, iron, and maintain the child’s clothing and household linens

·       Discipline the child according to methods requested by the parents

·       Instruct the child in personal hygiene and social development

·       Keep records of daily activities and health information regarding the child

·       Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home

·       Organize activities for the child, such as games and outings

·       Tend to the emotional well-being of the child

·       Take the child to and from school, appointments, and extracurricular activities

·       Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties related to childcare

·       Shop for food and household supplies

 

Employment Requirements:

·      Secondary(high) school graduation certificate

·      At least 7 months of related child caregiving experience required

·      Responsible, reliable, and organized

·      Ability to communicate in English
