Pizza Garden UBC is hiring for one experienced full-time, permanent (30-40 hrs/week) Pizza Cook.

Join a dedicated team and growing company that will support your career in the food service industry. As a Pizza Cook, you will be responsible for putting your culinary knowledge and experience to the test as you create the finest specialty Neapolitan style pizzas in a busy and dynamic environment located on UBC’s Point Grey campus.

Duties and Responsibilities:

·      Prepare pizza dough and all pizza types as required

·      Prepare all raw materials for cooking, which includes but is not limited to: dough preparation, cutting of vegetables, meats and cheese

·      Maintain clean working area and surfaces in line with food hygiene practices and guidelines

·      Train new team members

·      Maintain and operate all cooking equipment

·      Assist in creating new menu items

·      Evaluate food requirements and maintain inventory and standard consistent level of quantity and quality at all times

·      Manage all food order slips, administer instructions and perform all cooking

Experience and Education:

·      3+ years of proven relevant work experience in a similar setting

·      Strong interpersonal & leadership skills

·      English speaking

·      Minimum high school diploma

·      Ability to work on a flexible schedule, with majority of hours being nights and weekends

Remuneration:

·      $36.70 per hour

·      4% remuneration in lieu of paid vacation
