Overview
Transportation/Travel information: Public transportation is available and easily accessible
Accommodation available: AVAILABLE/OPTIONAL; at no charge on a live-in basis
Number of hours per week: 35 hours (minimum)
Hourly rate: $20CAD
Pay frequency: Weekly
Regular Days off: Tuesday & Friday
WORK SCHEDULE:
Flexible with work schedule, flexible start and finish time, available to work evenings, required
to work on Saturday evenings
*May be required to work overtime
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Language: English or French
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate – Equivalent to Canadian secondary school (high school)
Experience: 1 year minimum paid work experience as an In-Home Support Worker/Caregiver for a Person with Medical Needs
Work site environment: Non-smoking
Personal suitability: flexible, proactive, have sound judgment, organized, reliable
TASKS:
• Administer medications
• Assist the client with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene
• Assume full responsibility for household (in absence of householder)
• Feed or assist in feeding
• Launder clothing and household linens
• Mend clothing and linens
• Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties
• Plan therapeutic diets and menus
• Provide companionship
• Provide personal care
• Shop for food and household supplies
• Prepare and serve nutritious meals
• Provide nursing care
