We are seeking a hard-working and dedicated Stock Picker to join our team. You will be responsible for receiving, unloading, and verifying incoming merchandise. Your role includes organizing and stocking products in designated warehouse and sales floor locations, and accurately picking and preparing items for replenishment, customer orders, and shipment.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, unpack, and verify incoming shipments against shipping documents.
- Inspect merchandise for damage, shortages, or discrepancies and report issues to supervisors.
- Use barcode scanners or inventory systems to record incoming stock.
- Stock shelves, warehouse locations, and sales floor displays according to store standards.
- Maintain organized stockroom and warehouse areas to support efficient retrieval.
- Assist with inventory counts, audits, and identifying low‑stock or overstock items.
- Locate, pick, and prepare merchandise for sales floor replenishment and internal department requests.
- Fill online, phone, or in‑store pickup orders accurately and efficiently.
- Pack and prepare items for customer pickup or shipment.
- Price and label merchandise according to store guidelines.
- Prepare products for display, including opening boxes, tagging items, and assembling goods when required.
- Ensure merchandise is clean, properly marked, and ready for customer purchase.
- Assist customers by retrieving items from the stockroom or warehouse.
- Provide basic product location information to support sales floor teams.
- Help customers carry large or heavy purchases when needed.
- Operate stock‑handling equipment such as pallet jacks and carts safely.
- Maintain clean, safe, and accessible stockroom aisles and work areas.
- Follow all workplace safety procedures, including safe lifting and handling practices.
- Coordinate with department managers and sales associates to prioritize stock replenishment.
- Communicate inventory issues, product shortages, or damaged goods to supervisors.
- Support general store operations by completing additional stock‑related tasks as assigned.
Employment requirements:
- Some secondary school education.
- Previous experience in retail, warehousing, stocking, or order picking is an asset.
- Experience using barcode scanners, pallet jacks, or stock‑handling equipment is an asset.
- Basic understanding of inventory systems, stock rotation, and product handling.
- Comfortable standing, walking, bending, and performing repetitive tasks for extended periods.
- Ability to work in stockroom and warehouse environments, including ladders and step stools.
- Speed of action and the ability to operate equipment.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move items.
